Academic English is a summer language program designed for students with a conditional offer of admission to U of T Scarborough who are academically qualified but need to satisfy the English proficiency requirement.
Academic English is an 8-week English language course held at U of T Scarborough and taught by the U of T School of Continuing Studies. The program supports students in developing necessary skills for academic reading, writing, listening and speaking, while providing an introduction to academic culture, communication, research and study skills.
Students who successfully complete the summer Academic English program with a grade of ‘B’ or higher will satisfy the English language proficiency condition in the offer of admission and proceed to their degree studies in September.
