Green Path Entrance Examination Instructions
Answer
After the Green Program Registration deadline on September 30, students will receive an email informing them of the specific time and place to take the October entrance exam. The exam consists of three parts: English, Mathematics and Interview, and the total time takes about 5 hours. There is a break of about 10 minutes in between. Due to the confidentiality of the questions, we do not have sample questions.
Preparation Notes:
- Please arrive early. Enter the test room at least 30 minutes before the test starts, and you do not need to prepare an admission ticket.
Candidates need to be brought to the testing room:
- Chinese citizen ID card or Chinese passport
- Pen, ballpoint pen or pencil
- eraser
- Drink or bottled water
- Regular watches (smartwatches are not allowed)
- All other personal belongings must be left at the back of the room
- Candidates are divided into one seat during the test (one seat is empty between each of the two students).
- The University of Toronto examiner will take a written English test, an English-speaking test, and then a math test and a Chinese interview after the break.
- There is no break between the English Reading Written Test (70 minutes) and the Writing Written Test (50 minutes) and candidates are not allowed to leave the test room.
- Candidates are required to respect the examiner during the exam. If you have any questions, please raise your hand, and ask.
- The use of mobile phones and other electronic devices is not permitted at any time.
Exam instructions in English
Part I: English Reading Ability Test, duration 70 minutes
The content includes: Fill-in-the-Blank Reading Questions ( Multiple-Choice Questions) and three Academic English Reading Questions. Candidates are required to scribble all correct answers on the answer cards before the end of the test time, with only one correct answer to each question.
Part II: Writing, 50 minutes
Writing topics are generally related to social life, academic issues. Candidates who have any questions about the exam can raise their hands and ask questions to the examiner. After the exam starts, students have about 10 minutes to have a draft, then students will complete a well-organized essay in the remaining 40 minutes. Candidates are asked to write in clear and regular handwriting, and it is recommended to write in black pencil. Writing requires clear thinking, clear paragraphs, complex sentence patterns, and few grammatical and spelling errors.
Part III: Oral Interview in English, 15-20 minutes
Candidates will be divided into groups of 4-5 people for the test, and the topic will be discussed in a group of minutes or so in front of a video or PPT file. The examiner assesses the student's ability to speak and interact in group discussions. Each student will also have time to speak individually.

Exam duration: 50 minutes
Exam score: 100 out of 100
Question type: 20 multiple choice questions
Examination paper structure: 50% of basic questions, 30% of mid-range questions, 20% of comprehensive and ability questions
Proposition direction: Chinese questions, with the high school senior exam title standard
Exams include sets and propositions, inequalities and their applications, functions and their properties, trigonometric functions, sequences, plane vectors, complex numbers, straight lines and conic curves, spatial graphs and permutation combinations and probability and statistics
The newly added mathematics test is to examine the calculation, data analysis, logical thinking ability of candidates especially for undergraduate majors such as mathematics, statistics, and computer science
